Junior Matia Kastner took home the OHSAA Division III Southwest District Tournament Championship yesterday at Pipestone Golf Course — and in doing so, secured his spot in the upcoming state tournament.
Matia carded a stellar 73 (+1) to lead the entire field, finishing 1st overall by two strokes and outpacing more than 50 golfers in the field. His performance also propelled Seven Hills to a tie for 4th place with Summit Country Day, as the Stingers posted a team score of 332. Jason Zhou (81), Adam Schaefer (85), Caleb Katz (93), and Leo Cai (94) rounded out the scoring for Seven Hills.
