Yarbrough and Licata Join Seven Hills’ 1,000-Point Club in Historic Week

It was a historic week for Seven Hills basketball as Terrance Yarbrough and Reagan Licata both reached the prestigious 1,000-career-point milestone, becoming the latest Stingers to etch their names in the record books.

Yarbrough hit his mark in the Stingers' dominant 75-26 home victory over Lockland on January 31, while Licata secured hers just three days later in an away matchup against CHCA.

Heading into Friday's home game against Lockland, Yarbrough needed just seven points to reach 1,000. It took him just 2 minutes and 45 seconds to accomplish the feat, as he cut to the basket and finished a layup off an in-the-air pass from teammate Lemuel Zyyon. The home crowd celebrated as play briefly paused to recognize the senior's incredible career achievement.

"Terrance is a special player," said Coach Hill. "He has been a leader on and off the court, and this accomplishment is a testament to the dedication he's put in over the years. Watching him reach 1,000 points in front of our home crowd was an unforgettable moment."

Yarbrough is the first Stinger to reach this milestone since Brice Hill, Coach Hill's son, and a 2019 Seven Hills graduate.

Licata, who poured in 34 points in the Stingers' previous game against North College Hill, entered Monday's contest against CHCA needing 10 points to reach 1,000. The moment came in the third quarter when she stepped to the free-throw line and calmly sank the shot that solidified her place in Seven Hills history.

Her accomplishment follows in the footsteps of Maggie Kersting ('18), the last Seven Hills girls player to surpass 1,000 career points.

"Reagan has been an exceptional leader for this team," said Coach Burgoyne. "Her work ethic and competitive drive have been instrumental in our success. She has left a lasting impact on this program, and reaching 1,000 points is just another example of her incredible ability."

Adding to the moment, former Coach and Seven Hills standout and fellow 1,000-point scorer Tyler McIlwraith ('03) had a special message for Licata: " I am so proud Reagan was able to reach this milestone, welcome to the special Seven Hills club!"

Athletic Director Scott Willard reflected on the significance of both players achieving this moment within days of each other, saying, "For one player to reach 1,000 points in a high school basketball career is remarkable. For two Stingers to reach this milestone in the same season, let alone a four-day span, makes Seven Hills history. Because Reagan and Terrance have worked just as hard in the classroom and our community as they have on the court, they are without question incredible student-athletes that we should all be very proud of."

As the Stingers continue their seasons, Yarbrough and Licata's names will be in the Seven Hills basketball history, serving as an inspiration for future generations of players.
