The Seven Hills Stingers boys varsity basketball team showcased their talent over winter break, earning runner-up honors at the 2024 Jim Rose Classic in Lexington, Kentucky. With two decisive wins against Lexington Christian Academy (76-71) and Western Hills (58-48) and a hard-fought loss to Simon Kenton (38-60), the Stingers now hold an impressive 8-1 record as they head into 2025.

In the opener against Lexington Christian, Clayton Blust shone brightly with a team-high 24 points, knocking down five three-pointers and shooting 7-of-14 from the field. Devan Willis added 16 points and was perfect at the free-throw line, going 5-for-5. Miles Rizor chipped in with 9 points and 9 rebounds, helping the Stingers seal the game with a dominant 26-point fourth quarter.

On December 28, the Stingers' defense shined against Western Hills, forcing 18 turnovers. Terrance Yarbrough led the charge with a game-high 19 points, shooting 7-of-16 from the field and adding three steals. Devan Willis showcased his versatility, contributing 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Clayton Blust also made a significant impact with 11 points, including three triples.

In the tournament finale against Simon Kenton on December 29, the Stingers faced a tough opponent and struggled offensively. Despite the loss, Willis and Dylan Wolujewicz both contributed 7 points. Yarbrough added 11 points and 6 rebounds, while Malcolm Faison had 7 points on 3-of-5 shooting.

Coach Hill praised the team's resilience, stating, "The boys fought hard all weekend and showed a lot of heart, especially in those tight moments. We're excited about how this team is coming together as we move forward this season." With momentum from their winter success, the Stingers are poised for a strong 2025 campaign.
