Squash Battles Hard at Nationals

The Seven Hills Squash teams traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the 2025 U.S. High School Team Championships Feb 21st-23rd, facing off against some of the best competition in the country. While the weekend was filled with tough matches, the Stingers proved their resilience, with many contests coming down to the wire. The girls' team finished 7th overall, exceeding expectations after entering as the No. 10 seed, while the boys fought through several tightly contested matchups.

The girls' squad opened Nationals with a huge upset, knocking off No. 7 Millbrook 4-3, with Kenzie Motch securing the deciding victory. They then battled against No. 2 Brooks School, pushing two matches to five sets before falling 6-1. The girls went on to face Lancaster Country Day, narrowly losing 4-3, before finishing strong with a 4-3 win over Brookline, thanks to a clutch final match victory by first-year player Quincy Morris. Kenzie Motch was a standout, going undefeated throughout the weekend.

On the boys' side, Seven Hills kicked off against St. Luke's, where Will Huguenin's five-set match highlighted a tough battle that ended in a 6-1 loss. The team bounced back in Game 2, edging out Westport Staples 4-3. The next two matches saw hard-fought losses to Masters School (5-2) and Buckingham Browne & Nichols (4-3), but the Stingers showcased their depth with close matches from Eli De Buys, George Mullin, and Adarsh Ramineni, who played some of his best squash of the season.

A bright spot for the boys' team was senior William Hartmann, who went undefeated (4-0) throughout the tournament.

Reflecting on the weekend, Coach Amoako praised the team's perseverance: "This was a great showing for Seven Hills Squash. We may not have won every match, but we competed at a high level and had some incredible performances. Our returning players gained valuable experience, and it was exciting to see our new players step up in big moments. The future of our program looks very bright."

With several key players returning next season and strong young talent emerging, the Stingers have plenty to build on as they continue to rise in the national squash scene.

Congrats on a great National apperance Saxon Lackey, Eli De Buys, William Hartmann, William Huguenin, George Mullin, Adarsh Ramineni, Gabe Herman, Norman Attwood, DeHaven Quinn, Siena Motch, Kenzie Motch, Lucie Pease, Eleanor Kohnen, Fiona O'Driscoll, and Quincy Morris!
