The Girls Varsity Squash team had a successful weekend in St. Louis, winning four of their matches against opponents JBS, Girls Prep, Westminster, and Collegiate. Their sole loss was to MICDS, who were the Division 3 champions last year. All victories were secured with a score of 8-0.
The men's varsity team had a challenging debut, as they were unable to secure a win in their matches against JBS, MICDS, St. Andrews, Collegiate, Westminster, and McCallie. However, the team performed their best in their match against JBS, winning three matches and ultimately losing with a final score of 3-5. Despite the lack of victories, the team's effort and determination throughout the weekend was impressive.
"Both teams worked incredibly hard over the weekend and I am proud of their efforts," said Aanvi Anand. "I was particularly impressed with the men's team's resilience and determination, even in the face of difficult matches. They continued to push themselves and left it all on the court. The girls team also performed admirably, despite the absence of a key player in Aanya. The team's strong performance is a testament to their dedication and teamwork."
Stingers Squash will host their first home matches this Saturday (1/14) at the T Squash Center against Louisville Collegiate. Good Luck!
