Stingers Stand Out at Indoor Track Meet


The Seven Hills Indoor Track team hit the track on January 30th at Mount St. Joseph University, competing in a field of 44 teams from around the region. With athletes delivering personal bests and strong finishes across sprints, middle distance, and field events, the Stingers showed competitive fire throughout the meet.

On the girls' side, Amelia Schnirring was a standout, taking 1st place in the 60-Meter Dash and adding a 7th-place finish in the 200, showcasing her speed from start to finish. Claire Bachelder ran tough races in the 200 and 400, with a 6th-place finish in the 400 Meter Dash against a loaded field. Campbell Coyne powered to a 3rd-place finish in the 1600 Meter Run, while Madison Zortman clocked a strong 2nd place in the 800 Meter Run, giving Seven Hills valuable points on the track. Several other girls posted competitive top-20 efforts in the 60, 200, 400, and 1600.

For the boys, Vaughn Iyoha ran well in both short and mid distances, finishing 8th in the 200 Meter Dash and 12th in the 400 against competition. Thibaut Briquet, Thurmond Ellison, Max Faison, and Lemuel Zyyon all put up solid times and marks, Zyyon earning a 3rd-place finish in the High Jump with a vault of 5-8. Each performance added to the Stingers' strong team showing on a day stacked with talent.
