As the 2024 season progresses, Seven Hills Boys Soccer is starting to hit its stride after a challenging early stretch. With a record of 6-4-1 so far, the Stingers have found a positive rhythm, winning four of their last five matches and showing signs of a cohesive team ready to take on the championship season. Senior Everett Rinaldi, a pivotal figure for the Stingers, continues to be a strong leader for the group, providing leadership both on and off the field.
Rinaldi's contributions are well-documented. Over his career, he has compiled an impressive 39 goals and 39 assists in just 40 games. While his senior year has seen a slightly quieter start statistically, with 1 goal and 0 assists through the first four games, his ability to control the tempo in the midfield and create opportunities for his teammates remains crucial. His role as a dynamic, versatile midfielder capable of playing across various positions makes him a standout. With accolades including two-time All-Ohio 2nd team and MVC Player of the Year, his leadership is undeniable, and as the season deepens, expect Rinaldi to continue asserting his influence.
However, Rinaldi isn't doing it alone. Senior Aryan Reddy has also played a crucial part in the Stingers' offensive output, providing additional scoring potential for the Stingers. Their combined efforts have brought offensive structure and depth, making Seven Hills a more versatile team.
One of the more surprising and pivotal stories of the season has been the rise of the young goalkeepers. Sophomore Stephen Gerhardt and freshman Dylan Wolujewicz have stepped up to secure the team's goalkeeping duties. The two have shared responsibilities between the posts, helping the team through critical stretches. Wolujewicz's confidence and shot-stopping ability, despite being new to the high school scene, have drawn praise, while Gerhardt's composure has provided stability at key moments. Together, they've been essential in keeping the team competitive in several close matches.
Recent victories against Cincinnati Christian (4-0) and Landmark Christian (4-1) have demonstrated the growing confidence and offensive rhythm within the team. The Stingers' combination of seasoned veterans, along with the younger players stepping up in crucial positions, paints an optimistic picture as they head deeper into the fall season.
